Little-visited and relatively unspoiled by mass tourism, Burma (Myanmar) is now promoted as a new and exotic holiday destination. Burma is one of the least known countries in Asia. The country is bordered by Thailand, Laos and China to the east and by India, Bangladesh, the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea to the west. Long deemed inaccessible to tourists, Burma remains relatively untainted by contact with the modern world. As a destination, Burma offers great natural scenery, magnificent archaeological sites, stunning Buddhist architecture, colorful bustling markets, impressive colonial buildings and very friendly, hospitable people.

The landscape of Burma is dominated by mountains and jungle. The southern coast borders the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. Yangon, the capital, is a city of charming colonial architecture and wide tree-lined streets. The royal city Mandalay is a cultural and spiritual centre. Bagan, a magnificent archaeological site graced by the ruins of over 3000 temples, used to be one of the great Buddhist centers of South-East Asia.

We at Wings for The World are inviting you to discover Burma, to get a taste of its rich cultural heritage and the natural scenic beauty of this country.
